Road closure Netzbord - Blatten 18.05.- 27.06.2026
The municipality of Blatten informs: Preparations for the resurfacing work on the emergency and cantonal road will begin on Mon, 18.05.2026. To ensure that the work can be carried out efficiently, the road will be closed during the day from Monday to Saturday. Total closures will be necessary in some cases. A driving permit must be applied for in order to use the road. The winter closure of the cantonal road between Stampbach and Fafleralp remains in place.
Camping Lötschental in Kippel - Open again from May 13, 2026
Camping Lötschental in Kippel will be opening its doors again from May 13, 2026 and is looking forward to a new camping season in the heart of the beautiful Lötschental. Surrounded by impressive mountain scenery, fresh alpine air and numerous hiking and leisure opportunities, the campsite offers the ideal place for relaxation, nature experiences and unforgettable vacation moments.
Closure of the Wiler-Tärra-Weissenried hiking trail
During an inspection of the suspension bridge over the Tännbach, significant changes in the ground were discovered at the bridge's foundations. As a result, specialists were commissioned to check the statics and safety of the suspension bridge. The specialists attested that the Tännbach has severely undermined the western slope of the trench as a result of the current snowmelt and that the western abutments of the bridge are destabilized by a landslide.
Opening of the Wiler-Alpen road
The Wiler-Alpen road will be officially opened to traffic on Saturday, May 2.
The municipality of Wiler is responsible for issuing permits to drive onto the Wiler Alps. The municipality of Blatten is responsible for transit permits on the Wiler-Netzbord-Blatten route. From May 18 until the middle/end of June, a very high volume of traffic (approx. 30 truck journeys per day) is to be expected due to asphalting work (emergency road Netzbord-Wyssried-Blatten).
