This data protection declaration applies to the processing of personal data by (hereinafter jointly referred to as "Lötschental"):

This data protection declaration also covers the processing of personal data in connection with the website and at Lötschental counters and points of sale.

This data protection declaration is an integral part of the general terms and conditions (GTC) of Lötschental and associated microsites, apps and social media.

This data protection declaration takes into account the current legal requirements of the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (DSG), the Ordinance on the Federal Data Protection Act (VDSG) and the legal requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR).

2.1 Visit Website

When you visit, each access is temporarily stored in a log file on a server. The following data is stored:

  • date and time of access,
  • name and URL of the retrieved data,
  • Website from which our domain was accessed,
  • Operating system of your computer and the browser you are using,
  • Country from which our website is accessed and
  • Name of your internet access provider.

This data is generally collected and processed anonymously without personal reference for the purpose of enabling use of the website (establishing a connection), ensuring system security and stability over the long term and optimizing the Internet offer, as well as for internal statistical purposes. The information mentioned above is not linked to or stored with personal data.

Only in the event of an attack on the network infrastructure of the website or if there is suspicion of another unauthorized or abusive use of the website will the IP address be evaluated for clarification and defense and, if necessary, as part of criminal proceedings for identification and for civil and criminal action against the concerned user is used.

2.2     Event registrations

2.4.     Booking of package deals

When booking an all-inclusive package, the following information must be provided:

  • Surname, first name and date of birth of the travel participants
  • Payment method and credit card information

Please note that the data relevant for processing the booking will be forwarded to the service providers involved. They will process your data to carry out the booking.

2.5.     Newsletter Sign up

In order to receive the newsletter, the truthful entry of the following personal data (*mandatory) is required:

  • Your email address*
  • Salutation*
  • First name*
  • Last name*
  • Optional: address

By subscribing to the newsletter, you expressly consent to Lötschental using your address and personal data for marketing campaigns, such as sending the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from all marketing campaigns at any time. Contact details can be found below under "Contacts". You will also find an unsubscribe link in all newsletter e-mails.

Lötschental is entitled to commission third parties with the technical processing of marketing campaigns and accordingly has the right to make your personal data available to third parties for this purpose. We use the dodeley® email marketing service to send our newsletter. The provider is indual GmbH, Grundbielstrasse 1, 3902 Brig-Glis

The Lötschental newsletter may contain a so-called web beacon (tracking pixel) or similar technical means. A web beacon is a 1x1 pixel, invisible graphic that is associated with the user ID of the respective newsletter subscriber.

For each newsletter sent, there is information on the address file used, the subject and the number of newsletters sent. In addition, you can see which addresses have not yet received the newsletter, to which address it was sent and to which addresses the delivery failed. There is also the opening rate, including information about which addresses have opened the newsletter. Finally, the information about which addresses have unsubscribed. Lötschental uses this data for statistical purposes and to optimize the newsletter in terms of content and structure. This enables Lötschental to better tailor the information and offers in the newsletter to the individual interests of the recipients. The tracking pixel is deleted when you delete the newsletter.

2.6.     Cookies

Loetschental uses cookies. Cookies are information files that your web browser automatically saves on your computer's hard drive when you visit the website. Cookies do not damage your computer's hard drive, nor do they transmit your personal data to us. The deactivation of cookies can mean that you cannot use all functions of the website.

2.7.     Google Analytics

Lötschental uses the services of Google (Universal) Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. The anonymized IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage for the purposes of market research and the needs-based design of these websites. This information may also be transferred to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on our behalf. According to Google Inc., under no circumstances will the IP address be associated with other data relating to the user.

2.8.    Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager allows marketers to manage website tags from one interface. However, the Tag Manager itself, which uses the tags, works without cookies and does not record any personal data. 2.9.    Meta Pixel, Facebook Custom Audiences and Facebook Conversion

If you click on the relevant social network icons, you will be automatically redirected to the profile of the relevant network. In order to use the functions of the relevant network there, you sometimes have to log into your user account on the relevant network.
