Current information for ski tourers

Based on Art. 4 Para. 1 lit. c) of the Law on Natural Hazards and Hydraulic Engineering (GNGWB), the municipal councils of the municipalities of Blatten and Wiler decree the Blatten exclusion zone as follows for the protection of persons, property and material assets:

• There is a strict ban on access to the danger zones near the Blatten lake, the entire debris cone and areas affected by the landslide.
• The access ban also applies to the intact quarters in Blatten and the hamlets of Eisten and Wyssried.
• The perimeter of the Blatten exclusion zone is monitored day and night with video cameras and drones.
• In justified cases, the municipality may grant access with a temporary special permit.
• This order comes into force on Fri, 20.02.2026 and is valid until revoked.
• The previous orders are revoked.

Threat of punishment
Violations of this order are punishable by a fine in accordance with Art. 63 of the Natural Hazards and Hydraulic Engineering Act.
