Bietschhorn route
Bild: Tourist Information Lötschental,Bietschhorn Trail
Mountainbiking: Cable car Wiler
The varied route takes you from Lauchernalp over magical Lötschental Alps to Ferden.
The Lötschental is truly a magical valley, rich in exciting legends, extraordinary traditions and customs, and a unique mountain-valley panorama. The alpine route combines all these components.
The approximately 550 meters of elevation from Wiler to Lauchernalp can be easily overcome by cable car. Afterwards, the path leads in a constant gentle up and down over the cozy alpine pastures.
After starting at Lauchernalp, you pass Hockenalp with a wooden chapel. Then it continues to Kummenalp and Restialp, where guest rooms invite you to linger. From afar, you can already see the beautiful wooden chapel on Faldumalp, which proudly stands in front of the Bietschhorn and above the Lötschental. Here you overlook the entire Lötschental from the reservoir to the Lötschenlücke: stopping for a photo break here is especially recommended! Then it goes down into the valley to Ferden.
From Faldumalp, the route can be extended via Jeizinen to Leukerbad.
