Winter Hiking: Weissenried
Romantic circular hike to the hamlet of Weissenried.
You start in Blatten at the old post office and first walk over the bridge up to the parish church of Blatten. Then follow the road to the right towards Hotel Edelweiss. After some time you will reach a fork in the road. Follow the path on the left to Weissenried. In the hamlet of Weissenried stands the chapel of St. George. A short visit to the chapel is worthwhile to admire the altarpiece of St. George the dragon slayer.

Public transport
From Gampel/Steg or Goppenstein, the PostBus takes you hourly to Blatten. PostBus stop "Blatten, Post".
Journey
From Goppenstein, you drive into the Lötschental, passing the villages of Ferden, Kippel, Wiler up to Blatten, at the old post office.
Parking
You can park your car in the parking lot at the old post office in Blatten (subject to fees).
