DO YOU HAVE ANY MEMORIES OF BLATTEN?

We invite everyone who is connected to Blatten - people from the village as well as all those who have experienced special moments here. In an open workshop, we will weave these memories into a large overall textile picture - a polyphonic, collective work of memory.

We are looking for photographs, postcards, letters, texts, drawings, fabrics or objects - personal contributions that are linked to stories and experiences. Materials can be brought along on June 27 or sent in in advance (copies or scans will suffice; the contact address can be found below).

The resulting work will then be shown at Kultur im Stadl in Kippel.

Participation is free, no previous knowledge is necessary. Come along at any time, join in - and stay as long as you like. We look forward to seeing you!

Saturday, June 27: Using the photo transfer technique, we will create a large cloth from the pictures we have collected and brought with us.

Sunday, June 28: Through drawing, sewing, writing and painting, we will combine the contributions into a large whole - supplemented by new, personal traces, gestures and stories.

The project ERINNERUNGEN AN BLATTEN takes place in the studio of Albert Nyfeler, Schlüsselmattenweg 7, 3917 Kippel. The workshop runs on June 27 & June 28, 2026, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Carving masks Lötschental

On the trail of the Tschäggättä
The remoteness of the Lötschental has been the source of a multitude of stories, legends and myths. Wild creatures hunted through the history of the Lötschental and left their traces behind. They are regarded as the origin of the Tschäggättä tradition, which is still celebrated today with great attention to detail.
