The TragBar project is an initiative of the Academic Alpine Club of Bern (AACB) aimed at making the supply of mountain huts more sustainable. At the Bietschhorn Hut, too, visitors can help carry supplies such as wood or other necessary items from a depot in the valley up to the hut.

This allows part of the hut’s supply to be organized in an environmentally friendly way and reduces the number of helicopter flights. In addition, “TragTage” (carrying days) are held occasionally, during which volunteers work together to bring supplies to the hut, thereby actively contributing to more sustainable hut management.

To celebrate the 5th anniversary, there will be musical entertainment featuring Marc Tschanz and the yodeling duo A-Stimmig.

Registration must be completed by Sunday, June 24, 2026, at the latest, and is binding.

On the trail of the Tschäggättä
The remoteness of the Lötschental has been the source of a multitude of stories, legends and myths. Wild creatures hunted through the history of the Lötschental and left their traces behind. They are regarded as the origin of the Tschäggättä tradition, which is still celebrated today with great attention to detail.
