The Alpine Village is located on the southern edge of the Lauchernalp at an altitude of just under 2000 metres above sea level. It can be reached by cable car in winter and also by car in summer via a road from Wiler that requires a permit. You can request a permit from the municipality of Wiler or Lauchernalp Bergbahnen AG. By car From the north, take the A6 motorway from Bern to Spiez. Here the cantonal road branches off in the direction of Kandersteg. Thanks to the simple and speedy loading of your car onto the railway by the car transport company in Kandersteg, you can cross the Lötschberg in just 15 minutes and arrive comfortably in Goppenstein, the southern station of the Lötschberg tunnel. Information on car transport can be found here. From the south, take the Rhone Valley motorway from Lausanne or the cantonal road from Brig to Gampel/Steg. From Steg and Goppenstein, the well-maintained road leads directly into the Lötschental. The road is also easy to drive on in winter - winter equipment is required for the months of November to April. Getting there by public transport The north-south axis Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon takes you safely and comfortably to Goppenstein railway station every hour from Bern or Brig. In Goppenstein you have a connection to a post bus to the Lötschental. The journey time from Goppenstein to Wiler is approx. 10 minutes.
