At 1,970 meters above sea level, surrounded by light, silence and the peaks of the Lötschental, a special place is being created: Momentum - the Lauchernalp Lodge. A house made of wood and heart and soul. A retreat for all those who long for peace, space and real moments. Up here, it's not yesterday or tomorrow that counts - it's the now that counts.
Temporarily built. For lasting moments.
Momentum was designed as a temporary hotel for five years on a building right owned by Lauchernalp Bergbahnen - with a clear objective: to promote sustainable, responsible tourism. The lodge shows that innovation, environmental awareness and alpine architecture complement each other perfectly.
Sustainable timber construction
The innovative GU project is being built by Schäfer Holzbautechnik from Dottikon, based on an idea by Pool Architekten from Zurich. Supervised on site by Albrecht Architekten from Brig, it stands on a foundation by Zengaffinen AG from Steg and with the strong support of regional craftsmen.

The project is supported by the Canton of Valais, Swiss Mountain Aid and other donors and is a symbol of courage, change and sustainability in tourism. A statement for sustainable development in the Alps.

Secure. Modern. Close to the mountains. Our 19 rooms offer space for up to 64 guests - from cozy double rooms to family rooms with mountain views, all with balconies. Each room combines clear shapes, natural materials and light. Wooden walls, warm fabrics, wide window fronts: Alpine minimalism to make you feel at home.
