Itinéraire
At the top station of the gondola lift, follow the signs to the west. After around 900 metres, you will reach the viewpoint with the viewing platform. From here, take the same route back to the mountain station on the Hockenhorn ridge.
The route is mostly flat and easy to walk.

Transport public
The postbus runs every hour from Gampel/Steg or Goppenstein to Wiler ("Wiler, Seilbahn" postbus stop). Take the cable car up to the Lauchernalp, then continue on a six-seater chairlift followed by a three-seater to Gandegg mountain station and subsequently the Gletscherbahn gondola to the Hockenhorngrat.
Voyage
You can reach the Lötschental via the A9 motorway to Gampel-Steg. Then continue on the A6 motorway to Goppenstein and Wiler. You can also reach Goppenstein via the Lötschberg car transporter from Kandersteg (A6).
From Wiler, take the cable car up to Lauchernalp and then the six-seater chairlift, followed by the three-seater to the Gandegg mountain station and finally the glacier gondola to the Hockenhorngrat.
Parking
Parking is available in the car park or free of charge at the multi-story car park at the cable car valley station in Wiler.

- Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains, without warning. Appropriate clothing is therefore essential, along with adequate supplies of food and water. In uncertain weather, turn back in good time.
- Do not venture onto glaciers without a mountain guide. Take note of the warning signs that point out the constant danger, especially the danger of avalanches.
- Inform others of planned route, and whenever possible, avoid going alone.
