Hublchapllu Circular Hike
Continue up the village street to the signpost for the old road leading to the Lötschenpass. Follow this to the "Waldchaplla" shrine, which houses a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes. The path forks here and you follow the right-hand forest track to the "Hublchaplla", which is dedicated to Saint Francis.
You will reach the road in 10 minutes and return to "Färdariäd", passing the hermitage built in 1933. This building was bought by the Sarnen Benedictine Monks in 1952. The “Einsiedler Muttergottes”, the hermit statue of Our Lady of Einsiedeln, from the chapel stands in Ferden Church during the winter months. During the Benedictine Monks' holidays, it returns to the chapel for the celebration of Mass. Continue down the road from the hermitage to the Shrine to Saint Barbara. The circular hike ends at the church.
