The art of weaving
Weaving is more than just weaving threads - it is a creative practice that brings stories, traditions and cultures to life in a unique way.
In 2006, five women from the Lötschental valley, led by Züs Gelpke, took the initiative and founded the Viridarium textile workshop. The aim was and still is to preserve and practise the craft of weaving. Nine women are currently active in the Viridarium. They meet regularly to weave on their looms.
