Start of Repair Work on the Avalanche Barrier in Faldum, BLS Netz AG
On Monday, June 29, 2026, ABA Bautec AG will begin repair work on the Faldum avalanche barrier on behalf of BLS Netz AG. As a first step, various walking excavator operations are planned on dilapidated and unstable dry stone walls located near the road. The locations of the work are shown on the map in the appendix (B3.2). This will cause disruptions on the hiking and biking trail between the “Faldumtörli” and “Uistre Bärg” areas.
From June 29, 2026, through July 3, 2026, wait times of up to 1 hour are expected along this section of the road.
Starting July 3, 2026, the work will shift uphill into the “Uistre Bärg” area. The hiking and biking trail will no longer be affected by this work, but the access road through the “Uistre Bärg” area will be. The access road will be impassable between July 6, 2026, and July 10, 2026.
