Sled dog pass - an animal experience

Experience the ultimate adventure in the Lötschental with Wuffel's sled dogs! Whether you come alone, as a family, in a group or with your school class - the offer is aimed at every adventurer. The meeting point is the Wuffel Lodge below the Hotel Fafleralp, where the dogs and professional mushers will be waiting for you. Enjoy an unforgettable ride through the picturesque winter landscape of the Lötschental and round off the day with hot tea in a cosy atmosphere. Your musher experience

You book the accompanying time of a Wuffel sled dog handler (musher) for a musher experience with a professional musher and his 4-dog team. Adults alone or together with a child up to 12 years of age for CHF 120 per hour, for more people always two Wuffel mushers and teams from CHF 240 per hour.

If you book two sledges, it is up to the participants to decide how big their group will be. The placement of the participants on the sledges is organised on site according to Wuffel's safety criteria. It is possible to stop during the ride and swap places with group members who are standing by.

The experience includes:

Instruction about the upcoming ride,
Information about Nordic dogs
Familiarisation with the dogs present.
The opportunity to help harness the dogs,
Enjoying the ride sitting on the sled as a passenger and/or standing as a "musher trainee".
At the top of the Fafler cross-country ski run, you can ride a lap alone with the dogs.
Help unharness the dogs in front of the Wuffel Lodge, pet them, take photos and enjoy a free hot tea.

Optional for teams, schools and groups

Building a snow bar and an igloo near the dogs. Only in good snow and weather conditions. Surcharge according to time required, from CHF 240 per hour.

Children are welcome to drop in spontaneously at the Wuffel-Lodge outside of the booked hours and, under the supervision of our experienced Wuffel-Musher, groom the dogs, help with feeding and much more.

Location of the Wuffel Lodge

The Wuffel-Lodge is located just below the Hotel Fafleralp, at the postbus sign on the left in the direction of the "Langgletscher" house. Please note that the Wuffel Lodge is NOT accessible by car in winter.

Sport rides with sled dogs

The VIP experience that summarises all the offers described above as a single experience. After the outward journey to the Hotel Fafleralp, a lap on the Fafleralp cross-country ski run, you have the opportunity to take a culinary break in the Fafleralp hotel restaurant, or simply enjoy a hot tea with the dogs, who are taking a breather at the Wuffel Lodge.

Afterwards, we head back to the Faflerloipe, ski more laps depending on the conditions of the piste and then ski back to Blatten at high speed. "Sport ride" because, as in a sled dog race, you usually stand on the sled as a musher without any other passengers, steer it, sometimes walk uphill at the dogs' pace alongside the sled, and assist the accompanying professional musher as a trainee musher on the descent.
