Current risk of forest fires in the Lötschental:
- Only use the officially authorised fire pits to avoid the risk of wildfires and forest fires.
- Make sure that there are no flammable materials such as dry grass, bushes or trees in the vicinity of the fireplace. Ideally, the area around the fireplace should be free of flammable materials.
- Extinguish the fire completely before leaving the barbecue area or hand it over to the next person with this instruction.
- Pay attention to the wind direction and strength. Strong winds can cause sparks to fly and the fire to get out of control.
- Never leave the fire unattended and keep children and pets away from the fireplace.
- Find out about any fire bans or restrictions in the Löstchen Valley before your excursion and strictly adhere to them.
- Do not leave any rubbish behind and make sure that the fire is completely extinguished and the fire site is left clean.
