“A ridge with a magnificent panorama"
The route begins with an ascent of around 1300m in altitude over about 4 kilometers from Ferden to Niwengrat. In the middle of the climb is Faldumalp, offering splendid views over the valley and a water point. On the ridge, an exceptional panorama of the Valais and its 4000m peaks awaits you. With the exception of 2-3 passages, the ridge is runnable, but good concentration is essential. At the summit, enjoy the view over the Lötschental and the Valais. The descent to Fafleralp follows the same route. Then the Lötschentaler Höhenweg takes you to Lauchernalp. On the way, you can take a break at Kummenalp on a sunny terrace.
A 1400m climb, a beautiful ridge, a magnificent panorama and part of the Lötschentaler Höhenweg sum up this route. A good level of fitness is recommended.
