The glacier educational trail, which lies completely within the perimeter of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Swiss Alps, leads you to one of the most accessible glacier forefields in the Alps.
The educational trail for climate and glacier landscape impressively shows the development of the high mountain landscape in front of the Lang Glacier. This is part of the impressive UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch, a spectacular mountain landscape full of natural diversity and beauty. On site, however, there are no typical display boards, only discreet number signs. Information on the individual stations can be read in the free flyer. Directly at the number signs, there is also a QR code that can be read by smartphones. The code is photographed with the mobile phone camera and a previously installed program decodes the information.

Directions
Landscapes are not eternal – they arise and change over time under the influence of nature and humans. Using 23 stations, the educational trail clearly explains the development history of this impressive high mountain landscape in front of the Lang Glacier. However, it is not a traditional educational trail with display boards, as you know from many other places: on site, only discreet number signs are installed. Information about the individual stations can be found in the free flyer or by scanning the QR codes. The trail leads you from Fafleralp to the picturesque Grundsee and further on a rocky single trail to the impressive glacier gate. Attention: the last section to the glacier gate is an alpine hiking path (blue-white marking). After the detour to the glacier gate, you hike the steep path up to the Anenhütte, where you can comfortably stop for a break. Afterwards, it continues via Guggialp back to Fafleralp.
