Facts about the Hollandiahütte: 3235 metres above sea level Overnight accommodation for 80 people Starting point for Ebnefluh, Mittaghorn, Aletschhorn, Sattelhorn, Gletscherhorn, Anuchnubel, Anugrat and many other peaks. Hut telephone: +41 27 939 11 35 Property of the SAC Bern section Service times: The opening hours are adapted to the conditions and weather conditions. Winter: Mid-March to mid-May, summer: early July to early September; the winter room is open outside the maintenance period. Infrastructure A food & drink menu full of goodies, 72 sleeping places divided into 6 rooms and equipped with duvets (your own silk sleeping bag and pillowcase is obligatory!!!). The winter room has 12 beds. And a warm, cosy guest lounge with magnificent views of the glaciers, mountains and valleys. As for the current infrastructure (as of 2022), we can offer you: - 3 biological indoor composting toilets for a pinch of hut luxury for guaranteed warm feet...but beware, depending on the wind, it may not smell like roses. - For the sun worshippers: a small sun terrace to enjoy a well-deserved beer and homemade cake, - as well as a shoe and equipment storage room with Crocs to borrow during your stay, Please keep in mind: We are not a hotel or glamour luxury hut. Although the hut looks modern, it is simple, warm and down to earth. We only have electricity from the solar panels, and unfortunately there is not enough for everyone. ATTENTION it is therefore not possible to charge mobile phones and other electronic devices. Make sure you charge them sufficiently at home and bring a power bank! (Mountain guides can contact us to charge their mobile phones.) Water is also one of our luxury goods (in winter, snow is melted with painstaking work on the cooker) and in summer it becomes increasingly scarce... so we can no longer guarantee running water. The Hollandia Hut is located in the Lötschenlücke on the Grossen Aletschfirn at 3235m. The coordinates are 640.060 / 147.240 on the Swiss national map. Please see our pages for access options in winter and summer. Summer and winter In both summer and winter, all access routes to the Hollandiahütte lead over glaciated, high alpine terrain (the ascent is considered a high-altitude tour). Appropriate equipment (ropes, ice axe, crampons, etc.) and sufficient knowledge are an absolute prerequisite. Each route leads over a glacier and takes at least 6 hours.
