Vernissage der Ausstellung „Klanglandschaft Lötschental“

The Loetschental or Loetschen Valley is well known for its traditions and customs. They are mostly being noticed from their displaying side. But it is mainly the acoustic background that gives these customs a distinct feature. The main object of the exhibition "Sounds of the Loetschen Valley" is the presentation of sounds, strains and noises. The exhibition becomes an auditory experience. Six custom phenomenon will be presented in acoustical form:
Chinigrosslinun (Epiphany) in Kippel - carnival in Wiler and Blatten - Easter donation in Ferden - the Loetschentaler supporters of the Sion Football Club - the feast of Corpus Christi in Blatten and All Saints day in Wiler.
Several other popular sounds are to be found in an audio presentation: Folk songs by the Reverend Brantschen, the mouth organ of Josef Murmann, Pop music by the IKARUS Band.
